In conjunction with the opening of the New Galleries for the Art of the Arab Lands, Turkey, Iran, Central Asia, and Later South Asia, this panel discussion explores the role and impact of women from the Muslim world in inspiring and shaping their cultures.

In conjunction with the opening of the New Galleries for the Art of the Arab Lands, Turkey, Iran, Central Asia, and Later South Asia, this panel discussion explores the role and impact of women from the Muslim world in inspiring and shaping their cultures. Participants include Tunisian writer, illustrator, and founding director of the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar, Sabiha Al Khemir; Moroccan artist Lalla Essaydi; philanthropist and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Princess Firyal of Jordan; and author, artist, and educator Samina Quraeshi. Moderated by Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist and author Caryle Murphy.
