The Metropolitan Museum of Art presents seven Chinese sculptures in the shape of the ram as well as a 14th-century painting depicting grazing sheep in its Weber Gallery to celebrate the year of the ram for 2015. All of the works featured in the installation Celebration of the Year of the Ram are drawn from the Museum’s collection, the sculptures featured in the installation. They are made of bronze, jade, rock crystal, and celadon porcelain, and include Ram’s Head, a work in pottery covered with green glaze that dates to the Han dynasty (206 B.C.–A.D. 220), and Vessel in the Shape of a Crouching Ram, a work in stone with celadon glaze, dating to around the fourth century.
