Champs délicieux (Delicious Fields)

Advertised as “photographic originals,” the images in Champs délicieux are, in fact, reproductions of rayographs that Man Ray made during his first months working with the technique. He photographed the rayographs and then made prints from the negatives. Man Ray declared that the “originals” would be canceled after the completion of the forty albums, as with a traditional print portfolio.
