On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 556

Salviati’s mosaics for the Basilica of San Marco helped to restore civic pride in Venetian monuments. Vincenzo Moretti began work at Salviati’s factory as a maker of the colorful glass pastes used in mosaics. He later turned his talents to millefiori glass. This bowl features Moretti’s signature pattern of tulips.
