German (Reichenau)

Not on view

This manuscript—a combined lectionary (Bible selections read during Mass) and collectar (prayers for the canonical hours or before the Mass)—is attributed to the monastery of Reichenau, a major center of manuscript production around 1000. It includes lavish illuminations of the five principal feast days.
