Scarab Incised with Circles and Lotus Flowers

Middle Kingdom

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 109

The underside of the scarab shows a decorative pattern of cicrles, all linked to a circle in the center, together with two large lotus flowers. The back and sides of the scarab are also finely incised and show features that are characteristic for the first half of Dynasty 12.
