Relief, Tomb of Bakenrenef

Third Intermediate Period

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 130

This block of relief comes from the Tomb of Bakenrenef at Saqqara. The block border indicates that this was likely part of the framing of a niche. Preserved here is part of an inscription: in the second column (to viewer right), the tomb owner's title of vizier and most of his name, Bakenrenef, is visible.

For Curatorial Interpretation of this group of reliefs, see 11.150.50a–d-related.
