Scarab with Wedjat Eyes

New Kingdom ?

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 130

As the healed eye of Horus, the wedjat is a powerful symbol. It represents health and regeneration. Two wedjat-eyes are shown on the underside of this scarab, facing each other. Another sign, possibly a fish, is placed underneath.
