Discovered within the precinct of the Temple of Osiris at Abydos, this amulet fragment was part of a foundation deposit of the Dynasty 26 temple on the site. Such deposits consisted of votive offerings buried within or under the foundations of a building during the dedication ceremonies performed before its construction.
