Copies made after the Aldobrandini Tazze emperor figures

Not on view

Portrait series of the Twelve Caesars have long been prized by collectors. This set of bronzes reproduces the statuettes from the Silver Caesars without their accompanying biographical components. The bronze figures must have been made before 1872, as by that year the tazze had been dispersed—not to be reunited until the Silver Caesars project.
