These tall goblets are among the few metalworks to have survived the colonial-era looting of Chan Chan. Discovered in a burial platform in one of the city’s palaces, the goblets feature marine and avian creatures in swirling compositions. Small pellets in the interior would have rattled when the objects were lifted.




Estas copas altas forman parte de las pocas obras de metal que han resistido a los saqueos de la era colonial de Chan Chan. Descubiertas en una plataforma funeraria en uno de los palacios de la ciudad, estas copas muestran seres marinos y voladores en composiciones arremolinadas.
