This pendant from Colombia’s Tolima region, around the Middle Magdalena River, depicts a figure with human and jaguar attributes. The object was cast using the lost-wax process, and its body and extremities were further shaped through hammering. While most of the piece was well polished, the face was left rough.



Este pendiente, proveniente de la región de Tolima en Colombia, en las cercanías del río Magdalena, representa una figura tanto con atributos humanos como con rasgos típicos del jaguar. El objeto fue elaborado con la técnica de fundición a la cera perdida; el cuerpo y las extremidades fueron realizados posteriormente con la técnica del martillado. Si bien la mayoría de la pieza está muy pulida, la cara no lo ha sido.
