Han Likun Chinese

Not on view

In addition to printmaking, Han Likun also practices painting, calligraphy, and seal carving, absorbing ideas from traditional painting that has undergone a revival since the death of Chairman Mao in 1976. In this mixed-media print, he created a semiabstract composition inspired by landscape painting and archaic motifs and scripts. Studied naïveté is characteristic of his works from the 1980s and 1990s.
