Vera Neumann often used the Brooklyn Museum collections as a member of the Edward C. Blum Design Laboratory to search for inspiration for her printed scarves. This particular example features a lively Native American motif and was possibly part of a collection inspired by Native American artwork. Neumann, an artist who designed each print herself, also featured her work on clothing and home furnishings.
