C. H. Collins Baker. Lely & the Stuart Portrait Painters: A Study of English Portraiture before & after Van Dyck. London, 1912, vol. 1, p. 85, mentions a painting he saw at Dowdeswell & Dowdeswell that was inscribed "Copia het Cornelius Jonson van Ceulen Junior, 1657," possibly this picture.
C. H. Collins Baker. Letter to Margaretta Salinger. October 20, 1941, provides further details on the painting that he mentions in Ref. 1912, stating that "I think there is no doubt that the portrait you refer to by Cornelius Johnson, Jr., is identical with the one I saw at Dowdeswells thirty years ago".
