Sitting Statue of Kaemsenu (?)

Old Kingdom

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 103

This seated statue and a larger standing one (26.9.2) were found adjacent to the tomb of the priest Kaemsenu and probably depict this man (for the priest Kaemsenu and for his tomb, see 26.9.1). Unusually, this statue was carved from one single piece of wood.
