Pu'Ili

Native American (Hawaiian)

Not on view

The solid nodal end of the bamboo rattle serves as a handle. A single pu'ili gives a pleasant rustling tone when tapped against a dancer's palm, shoulder, or against the ground. Pairs of these idiophones are struck together.
