"Half and Half Mobile"

Designer Tess Sholom
for James Galanos American

Not on view

Jewelry designer Tess Sholom often collaborated with designers to create jewelry to accompany their current lines. This effective, bold design was created for one of America's greatest designers, James Galanos. The artistry is in the variously sized discs and their random placement on the strands which gives the feeling as if they are floating across the wearer's neck. Fine workmanship is exhibited throughout, particularly in the divided bevel settings of the discs. Bold jewelry in trendy color combinations like the black and red of this example was very much a part of the 1980s fashionable look.
