Parasol

American

Not on view

This parasol is less than typical because of its square canopy. The major decoration is on the interior rather than the exterior which was more common of the parasols after 1908. Clothing became simpler and less frothy at this time and the decoration of the parasol followed this trend. With such a lovely lining, the wearer benefitted as much from the decoration as the observer.
