Design House Hermès French

Not on view

Hermés is a purveyor of fine leather goods as well as clothing and accessories of the highest quality. The company began as an equestrian leather goods maker, first supplying harnesses to coach builders. The house's logo is a horse-drawn carriage and this belt is a signature piece portraying three different scenarios. The first is of two women riding in a carriage holding their parasols; the second of two people, one seated and one standing while driving the carriage; and the third of a man driving a covered carriage inhabited by a female passenger.
