Not on view

This vessel, in which an ancient oil lamp has been adapted, combines Josiah Wedgwood's pale can-colored ware with a relief in tawny jasperware, in imitation of ancient glyptic contrasts. The relief on the lid illustrates three Muses watering Pegasus, after a painting in the Tomb of the Nasonii outside Rome.
