The front is carved with a mask of Hercules draped with the skin of the Nemean lion. The table corresponds to a drawing by Lock in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Several similar tables are known (Wentworth Woodhouse, Yorkshire; Shugborough Hall, Staffordshire; and Temple Newsam House, Leeds.
