Knotted bracelet

Third Intermediate Period

On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 126

Five bracelets of linen were found around the right wrist of Henettawy’s mummy. This one, made of two 2-ply strands, bears no beads or amulets, but instead is enhanced only by regularly spaced knots.
