Made in 2018 using traditional techniques by the Alaska-based riflesmith Judson Brennan, this rifle is a fine example of the continued and current evolution of the American longrifle artform, which originated over three hundred years ago in Pennsylvania in the 1750s. It is notable for harmonious, creative reimagination of classic Golden Age decorative features, particularly the rococo raised carving on the stock and engraving on the brass mounts, that at once pay homage to the craft’s traditions and advance it as an original contribution to the artform.
