Belt Buckle

ca. 1900
On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 706
Unger Brothers manufactured jewelry and other small silver items in quintessential Art Nouveau styles. Stamping machines created both form and ornament in an efficient, time-saving process. The female head and floral imagery on this brooch faithfully emulate contemporary French designs.
