Dish
Ott and Brewer was the first American firm to successfully replicate the fine Belleek porcelain made in Ireland. For the New Jersey pottery, and their Irish predecessors, the shell-form was especially well-suited to the delicacy of Belleek. This example admirably reveals the fine relief of the shell’s surface in an almost paper-thin body, with a pearlescent, or nacreous, glaze that was characteristic of Belleek, but then uncommon for American manufacturers.
