Woman with a Mirror (Femme qui se mire)
In "The Toilet" or "Femme qui se mire," Frieseke painted one of his favorite subjects, a scantily clad woman at a dressing table reflected in a mirror. She is wearing one of the nineteenth-century garments that Frieseke avidly collected. The picture dates from the peak period in Frieseke's production when he established an international reputation as an Impressionist painter.
