Saturday Afternoon
From sketches done in Vermont, presumably during the previous fall, McEntee began this painting in February 1875 for the spring exhibition at the National Academy of Design in New York. The painting was completed by April 7, when he recorded in his diary that the painting had been sold to "Mr. Borden" for $1250 at the Academy.
