Candlestick
Brass candlesticks were commonly produced items, and a comparatively large number have survived. Although rarely bearing dates or maker's marks, they can be fairly accurately dated by comparing them with similar pieces of silver, which are generally marked and whose forms brassmakers copied. The present example features the slender proportions, square base, and reeded rim characteristic of candlesticks produced during that period.
