Counterpane, Bolton type
Not on view
This hand-loom-woven white cotton bed cover was made in one piece. The design is picked out in raised loops of heavy cotton weft threads. The heavy pattern wefts are in a 1:z proportion to the lighter-weight main wefts. The small central eight-pointed star is surrounded by various borders. The piece is self-fringed on all four sides.
