On view at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 774
Frederick Rothenbusch was a decorator at the Rookwood Pottery from 1896 to 1931, and specialized in vellum glaze scenic plaques such as this example. The qualities of the vellum glaze soften the outlines of the painting and gives a dream-like effect to the landscape.
