Card Table
This card table and its mate were made for Commodore Samuel Woodhouse, who served in the United States navy during the War of 1812. The tables share details with furniture documented to Anthony G. Quervelle. Very few documented Quervelle pieces exist, but the discernable characteristics of his style, such as gadrooning in prominent moldings and his preference for the grandiose Empire style of the 1820s are well known.
