Evening dress

ca. 1926
Not on view
Seen here is a nice example of a French 1920s evening dress of the period. The typical silhouette was rather boxy with a dropped waist and a raised hemline. This garment is interesting for it is a different variation with a tubular chemise and a more flirty skirt. The sequins are densely applied and overlapping which gives the dress a rich surface. Undoubtedly, this created a stunning vision when in movement.
