Doll

1740–60
Not on view
This charming miniature coat is constructed exactly like a man's suit coat of the period. The spindly flower embroidery on the pocket flaps and cuffs is particularly whimsical and has a biomorphic quality. It is uncertain whether this jacket was made for a doll or an ecclesiastical effigy.
