Featured, is an example of a fine French parasol created by Dupuy whose establishment was in the most prestigious shopping area in Paris during the Belle Époque period. The rue de la Paix was home to many fine establishments, offering the highest luxury goods. This parasol echoes the construction of the dresses at the time which involved many layers of different types of filmy materials and exuberant ruffles.
