Evening pumps

Designer Silvia Fiorentina American
ca. 1970
Not on view
Silvia Sappia Baldi, professionally know by the name Silvia Fiorentina, started the Fiorentina line in 1957. Fiorentina has remained true to her personal aesthetic rather than conforming to trends. Her elegant shoes typically feature low backs, curved arches, high vamps and sweeping sidelines which dip to the back. This pair of evening pumps displays the high quality, refined detail, and effective use of contrasting materials in a simple, graphic motif that is characteristic of Fiorentina's oeuvre.
