Ensemble

1928–30
Not on view
This girl's ensemble would have been a "Sunday best" or holiday outfit. Extremely detailed, it is perfectly in tune with women's styles of the times. The dress and coat appear to be homemade by hand and would have required a great deal of time and effort to incorporate materials such as facing the black velvet with wool and heat-pleating the dress. Overall, it is a charming, high style piece.
