The Ecclesiastical Department produced designs for church interiors in styles ranging from Byzantine, Romanesque, and Gothic to Neoclassical. This grisaille drawing depicts a stately Romanesque Revivial church interior with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, round arched medallion windows, and elaborate hanging lanterns. Tiffany's signature in the lower right corner allows a tentative attribution to his hand, or his approval of another desinger's work.
