Pilaster
A partner in the New York architectural firm operated by Alexander Jackson Davis and Ithiel Town, Dakin designed these pilasters (2004.229.1--.4) for La Grange Terrace, also known as Colonnade Row, a unified group of nine terraced town houses with massive marble Corinthian columns. Only four of the homes survive, located at 428-434 Lafayette Street, near Astor Place in Manhattan.
