Award Medal of the National Institute of Arts and Letters
In addition to being a leading monumental sculptor of the early twentieth century, Weinman was also a significant medalist. This award medal for the National Institute of Arts and Letters was issued in gold, bronze, and pewter. The obverse depicts a head of Apollo, god of the arts, in right-facing profile. The reverse bears a Roman lamp of learning with three flames and sunbeams radiating behind it.
