This is a brisé fan, consisting only of decorated sticks and guards, without a solid parchment, paper or fabric leaf. However, the painted ribbon binding the tops of the sticks forms the same function as a leaf, anchoring the sticks as a foundation for the continuous painted scene, which represents the Judgement of Paris.
