One of a pair (see 07.225.13a), this ornamental vase on its marbleized stand can be seen in historic photographs of Georges Hoentschel’s showroom in Paris. The inscription and accession number on the pedestal were added after J. Pierpont Morgan gave the Hoentschel collection to the Metropolitan Museum.
