A Nude Young Girl

New Kingdom
ca. 1390–1336 B.C.
Not on view
This weathered statuette represents a nude young woman, who wears an elaborately curled wig with a sidelock of multiple braids held in place by a clasp. Her hairdo, body type and the shape and position of the missing earrings help to date her.

She may be the lost sixth statuette known to have been found in the tomb of Tutti in Gurob.
