This drawing was made after François Boucher’s painting in the Hôtel de Soubise, Paris, presumably by a printmaker planning to engrave it.

Alastair Laing has pointed out the counterproof of this drawing, offered for sale at Hôtel des Ventes Giraudeau,Tours, February 13, 2021 (lot 6).
