This is the eldest son of the Elector Frederick who married Charles' I's sister amd whose rash acceptance of the Bohemian crown lost him his possessions. It was in the hope of retrieving the Palatinate for Charles Louis that Arundel set out in 1636 to meet the emperor, and encountered Hollar on the way,
