Views of Strasbourg Cathedral and Designs of the Windows

ca. 1840
Not on view
Probably printed as a souvenir for visitors to Stasbourg Cathedral, this striking black and white lithograph is adorned with views of the western façade at night, the nave, and renderings of some of the main stained glass windows and statues. The fan shape is oriented in the opposite direction from what one would expect, suggesting that the print may in fact have been intended for another use, possibly to be mounted as a shade.
