This design for a mural is inscribed as for a (unidentified) restaurant, but it resembles decorations included in The Busy Lady Bakery (1915). This was Reiss's first architectural commission, described in 1939 as "the first modern store in New York". Reiss designed the interior, exterior, advertising, and boldly modern blue and white packaging
