Embroidery Patterns with Knot Work
Series of six woodcuts showing patterns, often thought to be for embroidery, made up out of so-called knot work. The main pattern is presented with white lines on a dark ground. The series is based on Italian engravings made in the Milanese workshop of Leonardo da Vinci after designs by the master.
