This view of Wall Street features a stately three-story building (Federal Hall) with a colonnaded balcony at the center of the image -- as it looked in 1789. In the right foreground, there are pedestrians on the sidewalk; on the street in the left foreground, a pair of men converse, while beyond, there is a horseback rider and a carriage. In the left background, Trinity Church (with its tall steeple) is shown at the end of Wall Street.
