Papyrus Fragment

Not on view

This papyrus fragment shows remains of eleven lines of a text written in Arabic in black ink. The text starts with the basmallah—a Muslim invocation said before the start of any endeavor—only the first word of which is visible. The rest of text is part of an inventory list, making this fragment the only of this genre in our possession.
